Sunday 27th November - Plan is to meet at Lake Pier 11.00am for 11.15 launch. Our destination is a fairly short trip, mainly sheltered from anything heading from the West, and our objective is to help clear the trees and overhanging branches etc. which restrict the Sherford River. So, if you fancy a little battle against the elements, albeit in a reasonably safe part of the Harbour, then please come, but bring any secateurs, saws, thick gloves etc, to cope with the overgrown banks. We will have lunch on the banks of the Sherford, and return back to Lake Pier on the falling tide, at about 3.30pm. So a fairly short day, but hopefully a worthwhile one if we can clear a route to prevent this river, the smallest of the 4 rivers running into Poole Harbour, from choking up.
Bring hot drinks, lunch, lots of warm layers and windproofs, gardening gear - definitely strong gloves, and lines/slings,towlines, if you have them. Any queries, please phone.

A new signalling system is coming into force for craft using the lifting bridge at Poole quay. This is to bring it in line with the new Twin Sails Bridge when that opens. Okay we all know that kayaks can slide under the bridge at any time but it’s useful to know what signalling other craft have to follow. Signalling Details
The council have come up with a brilliant scheme to help fund the bigger sports clubs like PHCC
All our members plus friends and families of club members have been invited to register on the scheme and monitor their
increase in physical activity.
You may think that you are already very sporty, but there is always room for improvement.
Fill in a simple form available at the club hut or from the Members Resource area of the website,
register yourself, your granny, your kids and any couch potato friends you can think of.
You will be given a physical activity newsletter explaining which activities count, for example gardening, walking, dancing.
Thus it is suitable for all ages and physical abilities.
However, the Active Clubs scheme is only open to people who live or work within Poole.
For every person who fills in another simple form after 12 weeks stating that they are achieving the target of at least 3x30 minutes physical activity per week
the Council donates £ 5 to the club.
A local oyster farmer is having stock stolen from an area off Pottery Pier
designated North of the Upper Wych Channel and West of the "marked channel"
for approx 400 metres each way. He requests that if PHCC members observe dredging
activity in this area by small boats outside of 0700 to 1700 hrs or note landings of
oysters at Lake or Tulin Moor would they contact Frank Pinder 01202 723599 asap.
It is STRESSED that you do NOT involve yourself in any other way.
This is an opportunity, however remote, to help the police and local community.

We are Proud to announce that One of our Juniors has gained a place in the National Wild Water racing Squad For the forthcoming world Junior Championships in Switzerland in July. Congratulations to Harry Postill and good luck.
However , not only has Harry gained a Place , Young Josh Hook also took part in the National trials and I'm happy to say that both of our juniors recorded the most improved performances this year of all the juniors taking part. It shouldn't be too long before Josh is also Knocking on the National squad doors.
Well done!
As most club members are aware we have enjoyed unrestricted access to Long Island over many many years and we regularly use the island for lunch stops and other club events.
This access is under threat as the island is about to be sold which could potentially end all access. The DorsetCounty Council are looking at the possibility of designating public foot paths across the island to secure access for the future.
If you want help or advice on how you might be able to get involved contact Andy Young (PHCC) he is more than happy to help.
You can mail him here ay-phcc@ntlworld.com
