With the storms dying down leaving strong south westerlies and an ebbing spring tide flowing against it, it was too much to resist for the three of us who ventured out to Hooke Sands for a play. The peak of the flow saw us screaming down waves with 5ft faces at some of the fastest speeds we've ever experienced in a sea kayak. Many thanks to Ian and Sue for organising a memorable weekend of paddling the Dart, swimming and rescues, rolling for the first time in the wild, snoring in the dorms, and missing prawn cocktails. Click the title link to see some piccies.
The results of the first PHCC Photo competition were announced at the Christmas Party. Thanks to all those people who entered photos. The First First Friday Paddle! Four of us (Tim, Frazer, Dave and myself, Alan) took some time out on Friday at 2pm to do the first of these paddles to be organised monthly by Tim. Time enough for a zip from Sandbanks, round Old Harry to explore the chalk features along to Ballard Point and greet the Barfleur on the way back.
